Our take
This turned out to be a brilliant stop.
The location is excellent — right by the river and only a few minutes’ walk into Oudenaarde and the main square.
Despite there being a major cycling event on while we were there, we still managed to get a great space easily. There were two obvious rows set aside for motorhomes, but in reality vans were parked all across the car park.
What really stood out was how relaxed everything felt. Other campers had chairs and tables out beside their vans and nobody seemed bothered in the slightest.
Although the main railway line runs nearby, we never really noticed it, and the stopover itself stayed surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to the centre.
The whole area had a fantastic atmosphere, especially with the cycling culture everywhere around town.
