Facilities

The facilities are fairly rustic but clean, and the showers had plenty of hot water. I didn’t check whether there was a washing machine; from memory I did some hand washing and everything dried easily.

The Site

This is a small campsite in a wonderfully quiet part of Croatia, surrounded by the countryside of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. We received a warm welcome and it made an excellent base for exploring the area.

There are no large supermarkets nearby, so stock up before arriving. There are small local shops, but choice is limited.

Eating

The owners also run a restaurant just a very short walk from the campsite. There wasn’t really a menu when we visited — you basically ate whatever they were cooking that evening.

There was a lovely outside area, perfect for sitting with a couple of cold beers after a day exploring.

Exploring Lonjsko Polje

This is a lovely area to explore by bike. We cycled through the surrounding countryside and villages, following the river and seeing the storks for which Lonjsko Polje is famous, with nests on rooftops and specially built nesting platforms.

Our Verdict

We loved it here. It was one of those places where we immediately relaxed. Nothing fancy, just a small, friendly campsite in a beautiful and very peaceful corner of Croatia.

We’d happily return.
