First Impressions

We hadn’t checked the campsite’s website beforehand, as we had very limited Wi-Fi while travelling through Bosnia, so arriving at such a large leisure complex came as a bit of a surprise.

Checking in was also a little confusing, as reception was inside one of the hotels rather than at the campsite itself.

Our first impression was honestly one of disappointment.

The Campsite

The pitches were spacious and level, but the site felt very open, with concrete dominating the landscape and very little shade.

When we visited in early April, we were the only motorhome on the campsite. It was incredibly peaceful, and we enjoyed watching the sun set over the surrounding hills. I imagine the atmosphere changes completely once the holiday season begins and the water park is open.

That said, plenty of young trees had been planted throughout the campsite. Given a few more years, I think they’ll completely change its character, making it a much greener and more attractive place to stay.

Facilities

The facilities were probably the weakest part of our stay.

There was no Wi-Fi available on the campsite, which was disappointing.

The shower block also came as a surprise. The showers had no roofs over the cubicles, the facilities were mixed and there was very little privacy. I’m still not sure whether the block was unfinished or simply designed that way.

Location

The campsite is around a 30-minute cycle from Trebinje, making it a convenient base if you plan to visit the town.

Pros

  • Spacious, level pitches
  • Easy cycle ride into Trebinje
  • Water park and leisure facilities nearby
  • Good overnight stop

Cons

  • Expensive for the facilities provided
  • No Wi-Fi
  • Shower block lacked privacy
  • Large commercial setting

Would We Stay Again?

We would happily return to Trebinje as a stopover if we were passing through, as it’s a lovely town that’s well worth visiting.

However, next time we’d probably choose one of the smaller riverside campsites or a stellplatz closer to the town.
