The Joy of Ordinary Days
Golf, walking, cycling, gardening and time with good company — the small moments that quietly make up a happy week.
A visit to the Plants & Pots Fair at Bodrhyddan Hall provided plenty of inspiration for the garden and a few photo opportunities too.

A busy week on the golf course. We lost our match against Rhyl 3–2 on Monday, enjoyed a social nine holes on Tuesday and played in a competition on Thursday. Some good golf, some not-so-good golf, but always enjoyable to be out and about.

The garden is looking lovely and colourful after a trip to the local garden centre for some bee-friendly plants.
The rat, however, remains determined to enjoy his share of the bird food. I've seen him sitting on the supposedly squirrel-proof feeders, happily munching away, but I still haven't worked out how he gets up there. Moving them under the summer house hasn't put him off in the slightest!

Mynydd y Dref (Conwy Mountain) didn't let us down. A testing climb, a make-it-up-as-we-went return route into Conwy and spectacular views of the castle and harbour. The perfect way to spend time with my sister Judy.

Two very different social rides this week, both with excellent turnouts. Good company, plenty of miles and, of course, coffee before we head back.

It's been good to settle back into familiar routines since returning home from Europe. Golf, walking, cycling, gardening, and time with family and friends may not sound particularly exciting, but they're the things that make up a happy week.
Sometimes the simple pleasure of being home is adventure enough.
