Say the Small Thing

A small reflection on speaking honestly, saying what matters and discovering that one clear sentence can prevent a head full of worry.

A small thought for the week šŸ’

Sharing this as much for me as for anyone else.

I read something recently about how many of us don’t ask for what we want—not because we don’t know what to say, but because it feels like a ā€œhard conversationā€.

That’s definitely me sometimes. I hold back because I don’t want to upset anyone, and I quietly assume they won’t like what I have to say. But then I end up carrying it around in my own head instead.

The line that stayed with me was this: honesty gives the other person something real to respond to. Silence doesn’t always remove the discomfort—it can create more of it because the other person is left guessing.

So I’m trying a small habit this week: one honest sentence, said kindly, when it matters.

Nothing dramatic. Just clear.

If this strikes a chord with you too, what is one small thing you’ve been holding back?
