The Aire

A large, spacious aire with easy access from the N-322 and level parking. There were only two other motorhomes when we stayed, so plenty of room to spread out.

Walking and Cycling

The highlight was the Vía Verde de la Sierra de Alcaraz, which runs close to the aire.

We cycled eight miles along the old railway line to Alcaraz, enjoying a gentle downhill ride on the way out and a gradual climb on the return.

There were lots of tunnels, most of which were lit. The route was mainly tarmac, with short, flat gravel sections inside the tunnels, which were manageable on our road e-bikes. Beyond Alcaraz, the surface changed to gravel, although we didn’t explore any farther.

We stopped at the village shop for an iced coffee and a snack before cycling back, making a pleasant 16-mile outing.

Local Amenities

We had planned to walk into Robledo for a drink, but discovered that the bar listed on Google had closed down. No problem — we enjoyed a beer outside Matilda instead.

Our Verdict

A good, practical overnight stop if you’re passing through. Easy access, plenty of space and the added bonus of cycling straight from the aire.

Kim’s Rating: 8/10 — A Good Aire.
