Photo Journal 4 - 11 January 2026

It wasn’t the best weather this week: cold winds, snow and some fairly dismal days — but there was lots of sunshine in between.

Early signs of spring — catkins spotted on a winter walk.

A solo wander and a shared walk, a few days apart. The beach looked just as good either way.

One of my favourite walks, up along the hillside and across the fields to Gwaenysgor. Soggy in places but fab to be out. I took a slight detour and went right to the top of Prestatyn Hillside. The views were stunning, even if the photos don’t quite do them justice.

Another walk up the hillside today — still finding sunshine, and hoping next week brings cycling weather. Loving the walking, but missing the bike..

Cold winds and soggy paths, but also gorse in bloom, winter sunshine and those small signs that the season is already shifting.
