📱Tech Tip: Organise Apple Notes using folders on iPhone 📂

Apple Notes works best when it reflects real life. Start small, build folders around the topics you need often, and organise notes in stages.

Folders group everyday topics and make notes easier to find. Keep passwords and login details out of Notes.

Review your notes

Open the Folders screen and scroll through your note titles. Think about folder themes you need often, such as Insurance or Health.

Create a folder

1. Open Notes 📝 — your full notes list opens.
2. Tap < Folders (top left) 📂 — the folder list screen appears.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the folder list ⬇️ — your existing folders and smart sections are visible.
4. Tap 📁➕ (bottom left) — a menu slides up showing: New Folder · New Smart Folder.
5. Tap New Folder ➕📁 — a blank folder name bar opens.
6. Type your folder name ✍️ (Example: Insurance or Health).
7. Tap Done ✅ — your new folder now appears in the list.

Folders can be added any time you need a new theme ✅

Return to your notes list

1. Tap < Folders 📂 to step back if needed.
2. At the top of the folder list, you will see: All iCloud or Notes (this is your main Notes home).
3. Tap All iCloud or Notes ✅ — your full notes list opens again.

Move notes into folders

Move one note:

1. Press and hold a note row ☝️ — a menu appears: Pin · Move · Delete.
2. Tap Move ↪️📁
3. Select your folder 📂
4. Tap Done ✅ — the note moves into the folder.

Select and move several notes:

1. In the notes list, tap ••• (top right) 🔘 — a menu appears.
2. Tap Select Notes ✅ — yellow circles appear beside each note.
3. Tap circles to tick notes you want to move 🟨✔️
4. Tap Move 📁 — folder list opens.
5. Tap folder name → Done ✅ — all selected notes move.

Tools in the ••• menu

• Find Note 🔍 — search by title or topic
• Sort by Recent — shows latest notes first
• View Attachments 🖼️ — shows only images/scans/videos
• Delete Notes 🗑️ — remove notes you no longer need
• New Smart Folder ➕📂 — optional auto grouping by theme
