🌸 The 24-Chip Experiment
Morning calm, a fresh page, and a question: where will today’s chips go?
🪞 I was reading a newsletter from Ali Abdaal last Friday — he’s one of those people who blends curiosity, reflection, and productivity in a way that always makes me think. In this issue, he mentioned a book he’d been reading: Happy Sexy Millionaire by Steven Bartlett. (The title sounds bold, but the real message is about learning that happiness matters far more than the rest.)
🎲 Ali shared an analogy from the book that really caught my attention. He describes time as a set of 24 “chips” — one for every hour in our day. Each chip we play is gone for good, so the question becomes: where do we want to place them?
🌿 It made me pause. I’ve always think about how I will spend my days, but never quite like this — picturing each hour as a small, deliberate choice: a walk, a chat, a scroll, a moment of stillness.
💭 So this week, I’m going to try it out — just notice where the chips go, and maybe ask myself now and then:
Where do I want to place this next one?
☕ No rules, no guilt. Just quiet curiosity about how those choices shape the rhythm of a day.
A gentle reflection to start the week 🌸
