Our take
We loved this campsite and the whole Rothenburg area.
The site is well maintained, with excellent facilities and generous shower spaces. Having toilets and pot-washing areas in two locations around the campsite meant one was usually close to your pitch.
The real highlight for us was the cycling. A cycle route runs directly past the campsite, following the river through beautiful countryside on smooth, well-maintained paths. You can ride as far as you like, making it ideal for both leisurely rides and longer days out.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber itself is one of Germany’s most famous medieval towns, full of historic buildings, cobbled streets, cafés and restaurants. It was a wonderful place to explore and a real highlight of our time in Germany.
