Saturday Social: Towards Llanrwst and Back to the Sea
An autumn ride up the Elwy Valley, along the top of the Conwy Valley and back to the sea for lunch. Sunshine, stunning views and great company.
Today’s Saturday social took us up the Elwy Valley and over the hills towards Llanrwst in perfect autumn sunshine, with just a bit of wind.

Just before the road dropped down towards Llanrwst, we turned right and followed it along the top of the Conwy Valley. The views of Snowdonia were stunning. The road was fast and undulating, and all that up, up, up finally paid us back.

Before long we could see the coast, and we were more than ready to stop for coffee and lunch. It was a lovely day to be beside the seaside. The tide was turning, the sand looked pristine, and the cormorants were on their usual posts. One had its wings spread wide.

The coast path was busy as we cycled back towards Rhyl. It was good to see so many people out enjoying the sunshine.
I got home tired, with the hills still in my legs. What an amazing day: sunshine, great views and great company.
