Photo Journal September 2026
September in photographs: bike rides, time in the garden and everyday moments worth keeping. A month of enjoying life closer to home, with our Spanish adventure just around the corner.
Llanefydd Coffee Morning
We were rewarded with a great spread—a sausage bap, cake and bottomless coffee, all as part of the meal deal. A lovely event, raising money for those affected by the disaster in Nepal and definitely worth that big climb out of Denbigh!

Solheim Cup arrives at St Melyd
What an enjoyable day at St Melyd’s Solheim Cup. I played for Europe against Joanna, it was a close match with Joanna just pipping me by one point - but Europe won overall!
A great social evening followed with burgers and chips, and plenty of laughs. 🇪🇺⛳️

Autumn Meeting at Abergele
Another glorious autumn day on the golf course, this time at Abergele for the Laird Autumn Meeting. The course looked beautiful in the sunshine, with striped fairways and magnificent trees casting long shadows across the grass. The golf had its ups and downs, but it was a lovely day to be out.

A Gaggle of Geese Enjoying the Return of the Pond
A solo bike ride, but there is always something good to see

One of our favourite rides - Llyn Brenig
With ever-changing scenery, big hills and Llyn Brenig waiting for us

Blue Skies, Wild Winds - Prestatyn Seafront Showing Its Wilder Side
A favourite way to blow away the cobwebs

Do You Fancy a Trip to the Beach Mum? - No Fish for Supper
I was expecting an evening walk but somehow I ended up watching night fishing.

Saturday Social on the Bikes -The Tractors Stole the Show

The Garden Isn’t Finished Yet
What a difference some much-needed rain makes. The garden is full of colour, with dahlias, bright pink daisies and orange alstroemeria all putting on a show. The end of September, but the flowers clearly haven’t finished yet!

Autumn Colour in the Hedgerows
There’s plenty of colour in the hedgerows too, with bright orange berries and red rose hips standing out among the green leaves. Despite the drought, the bushes are laden with fruit. Down in the grass, clusters of orange fungi add another splash of autumn colour—well worth stopping for a closer look.

Badgers Alley and Coffee by the Sea
Autumn sunshine, a ride along Badgers Alley and coffee by the sea—made all the better by good company.

September has ended with plenty of colour, good company and time outdoors. I’m glad I stopped to take these photographs. It’s easy to forget how much there is to enjoy close to home when I’m busy thinking about where we’re going next.
