Pembrokeshire - St Davids - Celtic Camping π΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ
A relaxed, spacious campsite near the Pembrokeshire coast, with open fields, simple facilities and easy access to the Coast Path. We walked into St Davids and caught the bus back β a brilliant way to enjoy this beautiful stretch of coastline.
Celtic Camping has a very different feel from a traditional campsite. Set in open countryside near the Pembrokeshire coast, it feels spacious, relaxed and slightly wild. There were no marked pitches or hardstandings for the campervan that we could see. Instead, we were shown a choice of fields and invited to pick our own spot. That freedom adds to the appeal and gives the site a much more natural feel than a typical campsite.
The washrooms were adequate but basic β functional rather than fancy β which seemed entirely in keeping with the campsite. This is a place that focuses on space, views and location rather than polished facilities.
Where Celtic Camping really shines is its setting. It's an excellent base for walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. We walked along the coast into St Davids, then caught the bus back β an easy and enjoyable way to do it without retracing our steps.
St Davids itself is lively and busy, with plenty of pubs, cafΓ©s and independent shops. Being the smallest city in Wales, it attracts plenty of visitors, but it's still a lovely place to wander, grab a coffee and soak up the atmosphere before heading back to the coast.
Open fields behind us, the coast path ahead β it felt like the sort of place where walking and keeping things simple came naturally.
