RHS Harlow Carr
RHS Harlow Carr is a lovely garden, but if, like us, you're lucky enough to live close to Bodnant Garden in North Wales, it may not quite have the same wow factor. We still enjoyed our visit, but we found ourselves comparing it with Bodnant's dramatic setting and extensive planting.
RHS Garden Harlow Carr is one of the Royal Horticultural Society’s gardens, set just outside Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Developed relatively recently in RHS terms, it combines formal planting with more natural areas, including lakes, woodland paths and colourful borders, all laid out in an easy, relaxed way that suits slow wandering.
We stopped off on the way to Whitby and spent a good few hours wandering around. Even though the car parks were very busy, there was plenty of space once inside and the gardens never felt crowded.
